About Me

Skating has been my life and identity since I was a small child. It has given me so much more than an ability to glide across a frozen pool of water. Skating has given me a sense of being, taught me discipline, a work ethic and responsibility. Skating has made me who I am and I am proud to be a skater.

Skating  is in my blood and it will always be who I am. My goal is to develop that feeling in others; to make them feel a part of something special and be proud of the hard work, dedication and responsibility it takes to be a skater.

I was born in Champaign, Illinois where I began skating at the age of 7 in a speed skating facility at the University of Illinois. I trained in Springfield under Jill Page Smith. Just before I began 6th Grade my family moved to Arizona where I trained at Oceanside Ice Arena and Arcadia Ice Arena under Tommy Allen.

Words of Inspiration

You can use all the glitter in the world but it isnt pixie dust and it wont make you land your jumps, only hard work and perseverance will do that!

Some of my Favorite Quotes

To my students I have said this many times........

Rafiki's Stick.....

Rafiki hits Simba on the head with his stick and Simba says:

Ow! Jeez, what was that for?
Rafiki : It doesn't matter. It's in the past.
[laughs]

Simba: Yeah, but it still hurts.

Rafiki : Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or... learn from it.
[swings his stick at Simba again who ducks out of the way]

I am what I wanted to be when I grew up and for that I am thankful,

  • To my parents for dedicating their lives to a sport that I had a passion for and doing everything they had to do to make it happen. They went without for many years so I could have my dream.

  • To my husband, without his support I wouldnt be doing this as my career and who has put up with skating, skating, skating, for so many years.
